Jessica Asam has a Bachelor of Arts in Experimental Psychology and a Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling from Florida Atlantic University. She obtained the nationally recognized Certified Rehabilitation Counseling (CRC) certification during graduate school. Additionally, Jessica recently became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida.
Jessica specializes in working with clients with co-occurring disorders and approaches therapy from a client-centered perspective. She has worked at various levels of treatment, including inpatient and outpatient. Furthermore, Jessica has worked as a vocational evaluator, which assists clients in better understanding themselves and helps in guiding clients toward appropriate vocational and educational goals. Jessica strives for and endorses a family-oriented atmosphere at The Core Centers.
THERAPIST/SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR
Mandy Fineberg has a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University.
Mandy joined The Core Centers with experience in dual diagnosis treatment. She has provided both group counseling and individual therapy and prefers her experience with clients to be empowering and solution-oriented.
Furthermore, she has a versatile background and has worked with children with special needs, autism, families and adults with mental illness.
Therapist/Substance Abuse Counselor
Allison Zaretski has a dual Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and Mental Health Counseling from Florida Atlantic University. She is also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).
Allison joined The Core Centers with counseling experience in substance abuse and dual diagnosis treatment.
In addition, she has worked with people with visual and physical disabilities.
Allison has provided individual counseling, case management, vocational counseling, group therapy and family therapy with both children and adults.

Cyndy is a registered mental health intern in the state of Florida. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida. Cyndy has over a year of experience working in dual diagnosis treatment.
She has provided both group counseling and individual therapy to individuals and their respective families suffering from addiction and co-occurring disorders. Furthermore, she has experience working with at-risk youth, children with special needs, autism and families.
Director of Admissions
Alex Tavella has been positively affecting the lives of both parents and their children in the community for over five years. Alex’s primary purpose at The Core Centers is helping potential clients make a comfortable transition to the proper level of care. Alex plays a key role in coordinating admissions with the clinical team.
He represents The Core Centers in the treatment community. He acts as liaison with detox facilities and hospitals to determine the needs of those seeking treatment.He is available to answer all questions about the treatment program and any concerns dealing with the admission process. Alex’s background in addiction assessment and marketing coupled with his commitment to recovery has fueled his successful implementation of The Core Centers admissions team.
Alex is always available to answer questions, solve problems and, most of all, help people get on the road to recovery.

Michael’s passion for helping people is clear and evident. Originally from Philadelphia, Michael relocated to South Florida leaving behind an Executive Sales Director position to join the flourishing team at The Core Centers.
With an extensive network in the treatment field, Michael is dedicated to getting care for people in need. With the comfortable atmosphere of The Core Centers as a home, his abilities to get people transitioned to a better life are optimized.
RICHARD STERNE, MSN, ARNP, FNP-BC
Richard is a nurse practitioner on our psychiatric staff. He has worked in the substance abuse, and psychiatric field for many years. He started as an intake coordinator helping people get into substance abuse treatment and acquired more credentials as a Certified Mental Health Professional. Furthering his education, he got another Bachelors degree, in Nursing, from Florida Atlantic University and became a registered nurse, then gained experience in critical care, psych, and medical surgical nursing units. He also worked in a dual-diagnosis/substance abuse treatment center part-time while working in the hospital.
Richard now has a Graduate degree in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati, and is a licensed and certified Nurse Practitioner.
His extensive experience in the field compiled with his outgoing personality make him a great provider for our clients at The Core Centers.
Paul is at the center to take care of all of the clients’ medication needs, to monitor the ongoing health assessments and to work hand in hand with the Medical Director to provide the best quality of medical care for our clients as they go through the addiction recovery process.
Paul has 29 years’ of experience as a nurse and worked in hospitals, surgery centers and ALF facilities. Paul has a warm, caring personality and a great laugh.

The Core Centers is thrilled to have Dr. Fabrizio Amador on our team as our star Dentist who will provide a new in-house service for our clients.
Gloria has been helping people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs and prescription pills for many years and also helping the family and loved ones understand the addiction process and teaching them to be an asset in the recovery process. Gloria’s background is in hospitality, nutrition and case management.
She will make your time at The Core Centers comfortable and productive. As case manager, Gloria helped The Core Centers’ clients focus their energy and attention on the recovery treatment by assuming the responsibility of dealing with courts, doctors and other required appointments on the behalf of the clients.
Gloria works closely with the Clinical Team and support the clients at The Core Centers during treatment and works the clients to them up to success as they leave treatment and re-enter society.
Upon intake, Marissa meets clients with open arms and a smile. With her interpersonal skills as well as professionalism, she is a great representation to our new clients is what The Core Centers is all about.
Marissa is an addict in recovery herself. Through self reflection and years of work, she has become a woman of integrity, and truly enjoys passing this on to our clients. She is very often the first contact a client has upon intake, and her kind ways reflect upon our clients immediately. She is a valued and crucial member of our team, and the clients simply love her.
Chris has been working in the Behavioral health field for over two years now. Chris began as an Tech at a very reputable detox in South Florida and developed a deep passion for the industry. Chris rose quickly in the field becoming a Behavioral Health Tech Supervisor and Director of Housing in which client care and client safety were his number one purpose.
Over the years Chris has developed relationships with clients past and present that have become life long relationships. Chris now as a member of our Community Outreach Team has developed nation wide relationships in the treatment community and the recovery community. He says that “If i can help one fellow addict change his/her life and give their families the piece of mind to sleep at night he has done his job”.
